The Chief Medical Officer Aboard the NEV "Northern Light" commands the Doctors, Chemists, Paramedics, and Psychiatrists. Your first duty is to the Board of Directors of the Lazarus Foundation, with the Chief Science Officer (CSO) being their representative. however on board the Northern Light, you should also follow the direction of the Captain so long as doing so will not put you at odds with the Board.
You are, first and foremost, a Doctor. Your goal is to provide guidance to your medical team to provide the best medical care so as to prove to the Lazarus Board that your team are the best medical professionals in the galaxy. The CSO is your direct superior, and may task you for duties outside your responsibilities, however your duties in medbay supersede this. This means that you have the power to veto orders from anyone, including the Captain, during a medical emergency. However abusing this power is a sure way to get your career cut very short.
You are not permitted to charge for immediate medical care, but if the crew requests performance-enhancing or recreational drugs, or non-essential services such as installing implants or other modifications, you are expected to charge a fair price for them. It is up to you to determine what fair means.
Giving medical care to the crew is your utmost priority before profit. Your paramedics must find those who require medical assistance and bring them to the medical bay where either you or your doctors will save them. Keep your team busy, do not let them meander, for it may lessen the knowledge gained for Moebius. Have the chemist prepare for future events, doctors prepare for future surgeries and do not forget to request new medical equipment from RnD. They are your colleagues and will not hesitate to supply you with new resources.
- Do not forget to ask Lazarus Scientists and Roboticists for items they may benefit you, be they MediBots or new tools to make surgery easier.
